Our team, NAIST-RITS-Panasonic, gathers 18 highly-motivated members coming from 4 continents, 6 countries, and 3 internationally-recognized institutions: the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Ritsumeikan University (RITS), and Panasonic Corporation.
Our enthusiasm for the World Robot Summit 2018 has been steadily growing following our 1st Place at the Airbus Shopfloor Challenge 2016 and, more recently, our Finalist Prize at the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017. Strengthened by our past achievements, we are ready to set forth into the Future Convenience Store Challenge, with confidence, to take on new robotics challenges.
The application of theoretical ideas and algorithms to the very concrete tasks of the Future Convenience Store Challenge will enable us to improve our skills, spur the discovery of new problems, and focus our development to a tangible real-world goal that incites every member to perform at their best. Consequently, our participation in the challenge is not only a significant gain for ourselves and our partner research groups, but also represents a great opportunity to deepen our knowledge to the benefit of the society.
We expect hard work and challenging issues ahead, but most importantly, a lot of fun too!
